Uttarakhand Tourism is all set to organise snow leopard excursions in the state. These excursions will be organised in Harsil, Uttarkashi district.

With Global Natural environment Facility (GEF)’s support, it aims to do the job towards the conservation of “regionally and globally significant biodiversity” and the land and forest assets in the upper Himalayan ecosystem.

Uttarakhand introduced India’s initially Snow Leopard Conservation Centre in Uttarkashi previous calendar year. The state reportedly has 86 snow leopards.
