KEARNEY – Some girls aspiration about the ideal wedding ceremony day – the location, bouquets and, of training course, a beautiful white costume.
Leidimar Ramirez envisioned a various second. She couldn’t wait around to put on a cap and gown and walk throughout the phase to get a higher education diploma.
“I always dreamed about that day,” explained Ramirez, who grew up in Venezuela.
She knowledgeable this perception of accomplishment for the 1st time in July 2000, when she graduated from Simon Rodriguez University in Caracas with a bachelor’s degree in education.
Two decades later, Ramirez is similarly ecstatic as she adds a 3rd diploma to her resume.
Ramirez, her spouse Ruben and their 11-12 months-aged daughter Carmen traveled from their home in Newport Information, Virginia, so she could consider part in tonight’s hooding ceremony at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
“I’m very psyched,” claimed Ramirez, who is browsing Kearney and the UNK campus for the very first time. “I labored incredibly really hard on this. When you have a family, a really demanding occupation and everyday tasks, the electricity and the time can be complicated to locate.”
Ramirez is graduating with a Master of Arts in Training-Spanish Education. She was also chosen to be the university student speaker for the graduate diploma physical exercises, scheduled for 7 p.m. in UNK’s Well being and Sporting activities Centre.
