The wellness and security of the Filipino is generally a priority, Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat stated amid the ban of flights from the United Kingdom over the new variant of the novel coronavirus.

In a signing ceremony on Monday, Puyat mentioned the Inter-Agency Endeavor Power (IATF) on Emerging Infectious Ailments will talk about the constraints to tackle the risk of the new variant coming into the Philippines.

“I’ve always reported that the well being and security is generally the precedence,” she added.

Puyat observed that only ‘balikbayans’ or Filipinos overseas who are returning to the nation are getting authorized to enter the Philippines.
