Shadows-on-the-Teche Holiday Harvest Tours | Area Information Stories

The Shadows-on-the-Teche is now open up for tours. Be part of the attraction for a new exclusive seasonal tour, Shadows Vacation Harvest, and discover what the holiday break year meant to both equally the Months family and those people enslaved on the family’s plantations.

On tour, people will see the mantles dressed in greenery highlighted with fruits, nuts, and berries. Vibrant decorations and antique toys juxtaposed with touring trunks packed for the journey to Grand Cote enable to illustrate how the business enterprise of harvest on sugar plantations overshadowed the holiday seasons.

Safety Precautions/Guidelines:

As element of the Shadows’ COVID-19 approach, visitors are expected to don masks whilst touring the household. Excursions are constrained to seven persons in a single residence/traveling group.

When touring the grounds, site visitors are to use masks when social distancing is not attainable. Shadows staff is expected to put on masks when onsite and take part in a vigorous cleaning and sanitizing schedule. Hand sanitizer and masks will be out there for visitors to use.

As a special getaway reward, the Shadows is discounting admission for the month of December. Admission in December will be $8.50 for grownups ages 18-64, $6.50 for grown ups ages 65+, $4.75 for young children ages 6-11 and free for children beneath 5 several years of age and Good friends of the Shadows.

The Shadows is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday by way of Saturday. Guided tours commence 15 minutes previous the hour, with the previous tour leaving at 3:15 p.m. Shadows exclusive holiday several hours are as follows:
