Glacial Path Scenic Byway

You can expect to come across tons of purely natural regions right here: Barnes Region, Bertram Reservation and the Prairie Heritage Center, providing hiking, hunting, canoeing and reside bison. Also, the Illinois Central Railroad depot. 

Highlights here include things like Baldwin Marsh, a 67-acre area with wetlands and prairies Bellevue State Park with Mississippi River overlooks, a nature middle, butterfly sanctuary and two tenting spots and Maquoketa Caves State Park.

The American Gothic Household & Middle future to the historic American Gothic Home — the inspiration for the iconic and a lot-parodied “American Gothic” painting by Grant Wood — will convey you up to speed on the artist.

The Amana Heritage Culture owns and operates a number of historic houses open to the public, together with the Amana Heritage Museum in Amana consisting of the Amana village Schoolhouse, the Noe Residence, and the washhouse/woodshed.
