Two young brothers are divided from their relatives and sent to dwell in a authorities-run Indian household faculty in the 1930s—an expertise shared by generations of Indigenous American kids through North The united states. Inspired by their desires of household and the recollections of their grandmother’s tales, the boys embark on an adventurous journey from the severe household college to their triumphant welcome home at Susanville, California, in the shadow of Yo-Tim Yamne (Medicine Mountain).

Chiori Santiago – Creator

was an achieved journalist who wrote for nationwide journals about the artwork, music and family members existence of men and women from a lot of parts of the globe. Normally active in community affairs, she was also an arts and new music commentator for public tv and radio. Chiori died in 2007.

Judith Lowry

is a nationally exhibited painter of Mountain Maidu, Hamawi Pit-River, and Australian descent. Regarded just one of California’s premiere up to date Indigenous American artists, she is motivated by the tales handed down in her spouse and children. Judith lives in Nevada Metropolis, California.
