Elvis Presley ‘s former home Graceland is offering virtual tours for the first time, with fans able to take a live guided tour of the Memphis site from the comfort of their sofa.
The two-hour tours will include a tour of the Mansion’s rooms (including special behind-the-ropes glimpses), before taking a tour of the Lisa Marie Jet which features two half-baths, a lounge, conference room, sitting room and bedroom.
Viewers will also be guided through the 200,000 sq ft of Elvis Presley’s Memphis exhibit and entertainment complex, filled with artefacts including the iconic singer’s cars, jumpsuits, gold records and movie memorabilia.
Angie Marchese, Vice President of Graceland Archives and Exhibits, will be hosting the tours. An expert on all things Elvis Presley she’ll be sharing some of her knowledge and answering questions from the viewers throughout the experience.
Tours will be run through a private, closed Facebook Group and then archived for 72 hours following the live event so visitors can revisit the experience as often as they like.
(It also makes things a little easier for international viewers in different time zones – the UK is six hours ahead of Memphis).
Currently there are tours planned on January 27, February 25 and March 25, with additional dates set to be added.
Tickets will cost $100 (approx £73) and can be bought on Graceland.com.
Debbie Miller, CMO, Elvis Presley Enterprises, said: “We are thrilled to now offer Graceland Virtual Live Tours to Elvis fans around the world.
“In a typical year, Graceland hosts visitors from over 125 countries and from all 50 states. And, although Graceland remains open for limited capacity in-person tours, now, more than ever, people are looking for quality entertainment experiences they can enjoy from the comfort of their own home.
“For those who have always wanted to visit Graceland but never had the chance, to those who’ve been here many times and are looking for a bespoke Graceland experience, this tour is for them.”
