In return, he receives better treatment. Life goes on in prison, as Red and Andy discuss and disagree about ideologies and how they plan to spend the rest of their lives.

The Shawshank Redemption is an incredible film for a variety of reasons, especially the strong acting from Freeman and Robbins and the impressive directing from Darabont. Add in the well-crafted cinematography, the moving score by Thomas Newman, and the fascinating set of the Ohio State Reformatory, and you have a near-perfect film. The friends are joined by a young girl named Beverly and a new student named Ben, along with an orphaned boy named Mike. Together, they call themselves “The Losers Club”. The group is separately confronted by a demonic clown who torments them in various ways, until they come together and realize that this powerful entity has been living in their town for centuries and it must be stopped.

IT did an incredible job of bringing one of the most iconic and beloved Stephen King books to life. While many compared it to the miniseries which they had watched in their youth, at the end of the day, this adaptation stands on its own and was heavily praised by critics and audiences alike. With genuinely frightening scenes, a strong emotional plot, great suspense and tension, plus a strong cast of young actors, at the end of the day, it is definitely one of the best Stephen King movies ever made. Though some criticized its use of jump scares that may be seen as “cheap”, it ultimately adds to the movie’s fun, blockbuster atmosphere.
