9 Top Hotel Souvenirs To Relive Your Favorite Vacation

If you’re dreaming about your next trip or that special vacation you took before the Covid-19 pandemic began, the holidays could be the perfect time to savor a souvenir from your favorite hotel. Many hotels make their most popular amenities available online for guests to enjoy from home.

Black Friday and Cyber Monday often kick starts the best deals of the season, and hotel stores are putting many of their gifts on sale, too. This sampling of online hotel stores can check off any holiday shopping early for the travel-starved globetrotters in your life.

Scented candles

Hotels with a familiar scent can bring olfactory memories rushing forward even when relaxing at home. All of EDITION’s 11 properties around the world diffuse the same black tea scent with elements of citrus, smoke, Sicilian bergamot, chocolate, pepper and flowers through their public areas. The hotels’ scented candles retail for $80 online, but are currently on sale for $68.

EDITION is part of the Marriott Bonvoy program; other Marriott family brands with scented candles include the St. Regis candle and Westin white tea candle, both of which diffuse their respective brand’s signature scents. Marriott Bonvoy Boutiques has a current promotion with discounts and a Marriott Bonvoy gift card for buying certain items like a fragrance or bath subscription. Instead of paying cash, travelers can also redeem Marriott Bonvoy points for numerous gifts within the store.

Boutique hotels have their own candles, too, like the R O E N x Casetta 001 limited-edition candle (starting at $23), used at Casetta Group-managed hotels, including The Pearl Hotel in San Diego. Guests of The Dewberry hotel in Charleston, South Carolina can purchase the familiar signature scent of Bulgarian rose and other exotic spices in either travel or at-home sizes starting at $24. Grand Hotel Tremezzo’s bespoke fragrance “Aqua Como Sense of the Lake” is also available (via email) from the Preferred Hotel & Resorts’ property’s store.

Red Lane Spa skincare products from Sandals Resorts

If you aren’t lounging by the aquamarine waters of the Caribbean this winter, you might as well smell and feel as if you were. The resort’s spa line of products includes organic oils, bath salts, and body lotions with scents like “island essence” and “sea breeze.” They could be the ideal “stocking stuffer” for that at-home spa experience until the real thing is on your calendar.

W Hotels artwork and design pieces

W Hotels, another Marriott Bonvoy brand, is known for its trendsetting design and playful party scene, which varies by destination. At the splashy W Punta de Mita, hotel decor follows a Mexican tribal theme. Like many things with W Hotels, if something catches your eye, you can buy it to take home.

The W Punta de Mita store includes its popular and colorful pillow collection that has been a guest favorite since opening. Other popular W Hotels-themed gifts are available in the brand’s online store so you can keep those party memories alive. Its Hotel Exclusives section has accessories and artwork specific to particular properties from around the world.

Afternoon tea sets

Raise your pinky finger while at home thanks to these afternoon tea sets that are modeled after their in-person hotel experiences. The Ritz London, a member of The Leading Hotels of the World, has an online store selling its afternoon tea sets as well as a cookbook to create scones and pastries of your own.

Rosewood London has many of its dining accessories available online, too, including cups and saucers, mugs, and tea strainers. Hotel Hassler Roma, another hotel in The Leading Hotels of the World group, sells the same glass plates used in its restaurant via its online boutique.

Travel luggage

Carry-on bags and travel luggage that reminds you of your favorite hotel experience can give your wanderlust a boost. The artist in residence at Hotel Eden, a Dorchester Collection property in Rome, created a limited edition Chez Dede bag using Italian leather and the property’s signature yellow hues. Contact the hotel to purchase it; the handbag retails for $531.

One&Only Resorts launched its Heritage Collection by Jay Ahr, a limited edition set of custom-designed, vintage Louis Vuitton Keepalls, with prices varying by location. Each shows inspiration and design from ten of its hotel destinations including the One&Only Mandarina in Mexico among others.

Bedtime slumber

Westin Hotels was among the first to introduce a branded bedding program that kicked off similar hotel beds so comfortable that you want to have them at home. Its Heavenly Bed remains a popular favorite, but its Marriott brand counterparts have comfy beds of their own.

If you purchase a Marriott Bonvoy family bed (including its EDITION, Ritz-Carlton, JW Marriott, and W Hotels versions among others) can stock up on Marriott Bonvoy points including a 10,000 bonus for buying a bed now. It goes beyond the the mattress, linens, and duvets with the option to purchase pillows, candles, linens, and other in-room decor items from Marriott Bonvoy Boutiques.

Bath toiletries

Meant to be taken home, hotel toiletries are perhaps the most iconic reminder of a past stay to enjoy at home. Asprey Purple Water toiletries are synonymous with The Ritz-Carlton brand. Fairmont Hotels use the Rose 31 fragrance from Le Labo.

Le Meridien uses Malin+Goetz in its guest rooms, and in addition to toiletries, the at-home experience also includes scented candles and room fragrances. Westin sells its white tea scented candles and toiletries via its online store. All of these make great “stocking stuffers” for frequent travelers that have seen their personal stash dwindle due to limited 2020 travel.

DoubleTree by Hilton chocolate chip cookies

Fans of Hilton Honors and its DoubleTree by Hilton brand are familiar with this signature check-in staple. This year, Hilton finally revealed its secret recipe for its famously warm chocolate chip cookies as a way for people to enjoy at home during the pandemic, but you can also buy them online.

DoubleTree employees from 33 countries and five continents also share free online recipes using these cookies including everything from cookie-crusted rack of lamb to a DoubleTree cookie martini for that perfect holiday dinner with familiar flavors of a past hotel stay.

Robes and lounge wear

Kimpton regulars know that the brand is known for its edgy and playful design. That extends to the wardrobe where its line of bathrobes features everything from leopard, zebra and giraffe prints to seersucker patterns and even robes with hoodies. Most retail in the $100 range. Other items from the Kimpton store include plush towels and Atelier Bloem bath toiletries.
