Travel brokers will have to ensure guests conform to health and fitness recommendations

All travel brokers and vacationer operators in Sri Lanka who do not be certain that tourists arriving in the place adhere to health guidelines will be blacklisted soon after January 21 when the country is opened for vacationers.

Tourism Minister Prasanna Ranatunga stated “if somebody violates health and fitness pointers, it will have an affect on the whole tourism field. Thus, stern motion will be taken from violators,” he added.

Minister Ranathunga was addressing a seminar on Tourism Operational Guidelines formulated by Sri Lanka Tourism Advancement Authority (SLTDA) catering to travel agents, hoteliers, MICE tourism sector users, tour guides and chauffeurs held at Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism and Resort Management yesterday.

It is obligatory for all tourism company companies, vacation agents, tour operators, tour guides and chauffeurs who engage with tourists to be registered with the Sri Lanka Tourism Enhancement Authority.

The SLTDA should also be knowledgeable of an itinerary which include checking out web pages and stops all through journeys of vacationers.

The SLTDA will monitored teams from their arrival right up until departure which includes viewing internet sites during travelers continue to be in Sri Lanka.

A unique checking centre will be established up at the SLTDA premises for this function.
