Kay was born December 17, 1948 in Yakima, Washington to Lloyd and Louise Hammerstad. She was their 3rd yr wedding day anniversary present!
Kay attended Gilbert & Robertson Elementary universities, Wilson Jr. Substantial, and graduated from Eisenhower Superior in 1967. She worked in the registrar’s office environment at Yakima Valley Group University and built lots of close friends whilst used there. Kay spent several yrs volunteering her time, and was primarily proud to be a volunteer at Memorial Medical center Diabetic Clinic. Her favourite periods above the years ended up used at Cannon Beach front with household. Far more not long ago, she joyously celebrated her 70th birthday with a family members vacation to Maui, Hawaii.
Kay achieved the adore of her lifestyle Darrell Simpson and they married August 1979 in Yakima at Christ Lutheran Church. With each other they savored a wonderful partnership in lifestyle, delivering for each other’s demands with enjoy and devotion. She was also a loving mother who encouraged and supported her daughter, Alyssa, by means of life’s ups and downs.

Kay is preceded in demise by her dad and mom, Lloyd Hammerstad and Louise (Hammerstad) Goetz her loving partner, Darrell daughter, Alyssa brothers, Jim Hammerstad and Lloyd Hammerstad, Jr stepfather, Jack Goetz grandparents, aunts and uncles.
She is survived by her phase daughter, Nadine Simpson sister and brother in regulation, DeeAnn and Loaded Millet sisters in regulation, Carla Hammerstad and Darlene Hammerstad uncle Harvey Johnson nieces, Ryanne (Stacy) Mills, Jaime (Earl) Lee, Kari (Haywood) Saunders, Leslie (Tim) Petro, Tami Dillon, and Kara Allen nephews, Todd (Lisa) Brack, Nick (Emily) Hammerstad, Brynn Hammerstad, and Andy (Stacy) Millet several great nieces, nephews, and cousins.
God planned Kay’s daily life and filled it with goal she followed and lived out His prepare with joy. She concluded her journey below with us December 29, 2020, and arrived Dwelling to spend eternity. What an awesome journey she experienced!!
Kay’s Celebration of Existence Assistance and Reception will be held at Rainier Memorial Middle spring 2021. She prepared most of it herself, specially the reception with her favourite meals, and commented that it was as if she would be attending the reception herself for the reason that it was just as she wished it to be!
