Chicago minister group journey to Washington, DC for inauguration of President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris South Shore Drill Group participates nearly

CHICAGO (WLS) — While there have been no crowds for the Inauguration Working day on Wednesday, there were being many people today from the Chicago spot to witness the celebration.

The COVID-19 pandemic caused the swearing-in ceremony for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris to be scaled down.

When quite a few Chicagoans who planned on traveling to Washington, DC remained home, Rev. Ira Acree of Bigger St. John Bible Church was at the ceremony with a small group of Chicago ministers. The group arrived ahead of the inauguration with a mission to “help you save the soul of The us.”

“To present prayers, to present hope, to offer you some sort of healing for this state, Rev. Acree reported.

Rev. Acree was also in Washington, DC for both of President Barack Obama’s inaugurations. He was struck by how diverse Wednesday’s event with no crowds but said the spirit of hope is even now alive.
